The Milwaukee Rescue Mission opened Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) in 2006 with the intent of reaching inner-city kids with educational opportunity and the hope of the Gospel.

The school, with nearly 500 students and a 20:1 student-staff ratio, offers pre-kindergarten through 12th grade classes — including reading, mathematics, social studies, Bible, physical education, health, music and art.

Through diligent work, students gain the skills necessary to be successful in their academic efforts — but the need continues for classroom supplies that will help equip them for success. If you’d like to help (thank you!), please consult the lists below to get an idea of how you can help our students throughout the year.

CTA Fab Lab

In the CTA Fabrication Lab, students receive hands-on experience while developing important technical skills and exploring career interests. Thanks to generous friends, our Fab Lab is equipped with modern technologies — but is often running low on materials needed for school projects:

  • Rags
  • Paint brushes — all sizes
  • Paint — in usable condition (no old paint, please!)
  • Screws — all common sizes
  • Wood — 2x4s, 1x4s, 1x6s, 1x8s (good condition, please — no twisted or warped pieces!)

CTA Student School Supplies

For the one in three students living in poverty, the school year can be filled with anxiety. Many don’t have access to vital school supplies — and face an uphill battle to stay in school and graduate. Can you help?

DONATION DROP-OFF INSTRUCTIONS

If you’re able to help in providing any of the above items, you may drop them off at our Central Campus Distribution Center (Kilbourn Avenue and 18th Street) anytime between 10am-6pm, Monday through Friday.

Upon entering the parking lot off of Kilbourn Ave., veer left, drive down the ramp and make a left turn at the end of the ramp. There you will find a door on your right to the Distribution Center, where staff can assist with your donation and provide a receipt.

 

Donations may also be sent by mail, whether sent from your home or purchased and shipped from a store (like Target, Amazon, etc.). Please address mailed donations to:
