RESOURCE CENTER MANAGER (FULL-TIME)
We are looking for a mature Christian man to work with homeless men using our overnight shelter and services. The primary purpose is to work with our guests and program participants and provide oversight to volunteers working with the participants. Responsibilities would include identifying and developing academic curriculum, faithfully accepting and adhering to Safe Harbor/New Journey policies and procedures and collaborating with the Assistant Director of Programs to develop outcomes that are utilized to identify progress being made by participants. Our preferred candidate should have an undergraduate degree in an applicable field (theology, social work or education) and two to four years supervisory experience is preferred. Candidates should also be able to communicate clearly (verbally and written), multi-task, collaborate with others organizationally, work within the team concept, commit themselves to completing tasks and display a mature Christian faith. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This individual must be willing to work flexible hours.
NEW JOURNEY ADVOCATE (FULL-TIME)
We are looking for a mature Christian man to work with homeless men using our overnight shelter and services. The primary purpose is to work with our New Journey program participants to help meet their needs and provide direction in their lives. Responsibilities would include meeting regularly with Safe Harbor and Facilities staff to communicate the needs and successes of the New Journey men. Provide oversight to the men and working with participants to find spiritual, physical, psychological and vocational help. Help Safe Harbor staff by bringing awareness regarding the means of dealing with the social service needs. Assist in recruiting men for the New Journey program. Our preferred candidate should have a four-year college degree, preferably in an applicable field (theology, social work or education) and two to four years of experience working with homeless men, preferably in a rescue mission setting. The individual chosen for this position will exhibit a mature Christian faith, an ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, a desire to collaborate with others, the ability to multi-task, a deep and growing understanding of the Scriptures and how to utilize them when counseling men, and a commitment to serve others. This is a full-time non-exempt position. This individual must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
