DISTRIBUTION - CLOTHING ROOM ASSISTANT FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN (FULL-TIME)

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Christian female to fill an opening in our distribution area. This person will be responsible for assisting the lead coordinator in all areas of the Clothing Room for women & children. The Clothing Room provides women and children from our programs with clothing, hygiene, and houseware needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sorting and processing donated goods, accurately and timely recording, as well as distributing donations to our women and children.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as directed. Additional responsibilities would include email, statistical tracking records, and clothing room operations in absence of Lead Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be a Christian female over 21 years of age
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 email, Microsoft Word, and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills are needed.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team is necessary.
  • Ability to lift 20lbs repeatedly throughout shift

  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct

COMMUNITY OUTREACH SUPPORT STAFF - (FULL-TIME/PART-TIME)

We are looking to hire multiple full-time/part-time employees to assist in meeting the needs of our neighbors through events and programs, building relationships that will introduce/reconnect individuals to Christ and help them navigate through life. These individuals would be personable, creative and self-starting.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helping to develop, plan, and execute events for our community and school families
  • Working with individuals one-on-one as well as in various group settings, educating others in life skills, and helping them to set and reach goals.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College experience (preferably in Theology, Social Work, or Education) or 2-4 years of experience in outreach ministry, preferably in an urban setting.
  •  Hospitality/culinary background preferred, but not required
  • The ideal candidate would be a mature Christian who loves Christ, is compassionate, and has a heart for ministering to the poor. 
  • Necessary skills include excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, as well as basic computer/office skills, detail-oriented, creative, and hospitable.
  • Valid Driver’s License a must.

UPWARDS SPORTS & COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR - (FULL TIME)

The Milwaukee Rescue Mission’s Equip department is looking to hire a full-time male coordinator. Our Equip Program focuses on building strong families through education and resources to help them become stable physically, emotionally and spiritually. This position is located at our North Campus location, 1530 W Center Street and will be responsible for all of the Upward Sports program, as well as assisting with the development of Cross Trainers Academy (school) sports programs. This individual will also be a community outreach team member, our North Campus Engagement Champion, and will assist where needed with MRM functions and support the implementation of our North Campus strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Upward Sports Program Coordinator:

  • Develop Upward Sports Program into year round, multi-gender, multi-grade, basketball program. Potentially expanding program to football or soccer.
  • Assist with the Cross Trainers Academy (school) sports program development

North Campus Parent & Community Outreach Team Member:

  • Events:  Community building activities that support healthy family activities
  • Education—bible study, parenting, finances, family dynamics, job readiness
  • Resources—seasonal outreaches, as assessed/needed, referral guide, food, clothing, employment
  • Presence & PR—on-site, in the trenches community relations, promotional networker and canvasser to other Milwaukee Rescue Mission (MRM) approved collaborative partners—churches, organizations, etc.
  • Developer—as assessed within the community, build or connect with other community assets to further expand Equip program offerings.

North Campus Male Engagement Champion:

  • Fatherhood Initiative:  Dad Bible Study, Father/Son events, Dad events
  • Employment resources referrals/liaison

MRM/Equip Team Player

  • Help as needed, where needed with MRM functions
  • Support and implement North Campus Strategy by helping students graduate, get jobs, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A mature Christian man
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in the teaching and coaching of a basketball program preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Necessary skills include being a flexible team player, a good communicator, culturally competent, organized, and working well under pressure, as well as basic computer/office skills
