Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) is a 4K-12th grade Christian Academy in the heart of Milwaukee, serving students and families who are searching for a strong academic learning experience in a gospel-centered environment. As a Choice School, CTA is committed to offering a comprehensive, student-centered educational experience that serves the whole student. EDUCATION ROLES:

SPECIAL EDUCATION RESOURCE TEACHER - (PART-TIME)

We are seeking a part-time Special Education Intervention Resource Teacher – Math or Reading, 5K-8th grade.  This is the PERFECT position for an educator certified in special education who likes to work with individuals and small groups, understands the IEP process and service delivery models, and is looking for part-time employment in a 4K-12th grade urban setting.  Whether you are new, retired, and just looking to move from full-time to part-time, we would love to interview you.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Embody and demonstrate a Christ-like character and ensure that students exhibit the same values.
  • Focus on instruction and adolescent development in a small group, pull-out model (small case-load)
  • Consistently enforce school-wide core values with an emphasis on academic development and Christ-like characteristics.
  • Responsible for communicating and collaborating with parents and other staff members to ensure each scholar is making academic and social progress.
  • Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled devotional, in-service, committees, and faculty and parent meetings.
  • Maintains a neat, organized and engaging classroom environment.
  • Prepares quarterly student progress reports on students identified through our SNSP (Special Needs Scholarship Program).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; current DPI license or willing to pursue license in Special Education
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills

We are seeking Elementary School teachers. We have various vacancies expected for 2019-2020 through school growth/increased Choice seats opening in grades 4k-5th grade.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL) - (PART-TIME)

A Middle and High School substitute teacher instructs students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans

SCHOOL SUPPORT ROLE:

CUSTODIAN – FULL TIME (MULTIPLE OPENINGS)

We are seeking experienced full time, 2nd shift custodians at our Cross Trainers Academy (school), located at 1530 W Center Street. This position performs a variety of custodial and maintenance duties to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment for staff, students and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain cleanliness (sweep, mop, remove trash, sanitize) classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and other common areas
  • Maintain appropriate supplies in restrooms, classrooms, and locker rooms
  • Wash windows
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets as needed
  • Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer/wax to hard surface floors
  • Perform minor maintenance to buildings and equipment
  • Assist with event setup
  • Assist with maintaining the grounds, including yardwork and snow/ice removal
  • Performs other tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • One or more years previous building maintenance or custodial experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic custodial equipment and supplies, as well as buffers, scrubbers, carpet extractors, pressure washers, snow blowers, lawn equipment, various hand and power tools
  • Must be able to handle physical workload – capable of continuously standing, walking, stair climbing, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively and professionally with facility, students, and peers

FOOD SERVER - (FULL TIME)

We are seeking a full time food server at our Cross Trainers Academy. 

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Preparation and delivery of food and beverage
  • Clean kitchen and dining room
  • Monitor inventory and identify shortfalls in stock
  • Coordinates workflow and activities of assigned areas
  • Identifies, resolves and reports potential problems which result in poor quality, waste, or deviation from standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred
  • Prior experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
  • Exhibit courtesy, tact, and reasonable speed in performance of duties
